MORE THAN $70,000 RAISED AT
Eighth ANNUAL CHANGING LIVES THROUGH LITERACY GOLF TOURNAMENT
DALLAS (November 1, 2006) – The eighth annual
Changing Lives Through Literacy Golf Tournament
benefiting VMLC was held on October 30, 2006 at the Dallas Athletic
Club. More than 150 golfers participated and over 180 people
attended the Mexican buffet dinner and live auction that followed
play. These participants, along with our very generous sponsors and
donors, contributed over $70,000.00, after expenses, to VMLC.
Medical City Dallas again led the way as presenting sponsor.
Gold Sponsors were Austin Industries and Presbyterian
Hospital-Dallas.
For the third year in a row, the Urban Nissan
team, led by Stacey Urban, won the men's event on the blue
course. The gold course winning team was a new entrant this year
from Tyler, TX, captained by Tim Young. The winning ladies team
included Billie Adams, Betsy Rogers, Cyndy Monie and Johnnie
Hatfield. The Dr. Ted and Twila Moore Sponsor's Cup was won
by Austin Industries.
Mark your calendars now for the ninth annual
Changing Lives Through Literacy Golf Tournament to be
held at the Dallas Athletic Club on Monday October 22, 2007. We look
forward to seeing you there!
