MORE THAN $54,000 RAISED AT SEVENTH ANNUAL CHANGING LIVES THROUGH LITERACY GOLF TOURNAMENT
DALLAS (March 14, 2006) – The seventh annual Changing Lives Through Literacy Golf Tournament was a huge success, raising more than $54,000 for Vickery Meadow Learning Center. The event, held on October
24, 2005 at the Dallas Athletic Club, saw over 150 golfers hitting the links
and many more came out for the Mexican buffet dinner and live
auction that followed play. Special thanks to Medical City Dallas,
who led the way as Presenting Sponsor. Gold Sponsors included Austin
Industries, Presbyterian Hospital-Dallas and Cindi and Jay Anthony. The beautiful weather helped, but it was the great cause, the competition and the prizes that made for an enjoyable day.
For the second year in a row, the Urban Nissan team, captained by
Stacy Urban, won the men's team event on the Gold Course, and the
Dr. Ted Moore captained team won on the Blue Course. The winning
ladies team was comprised of Nancy Leonard, Katy Nichols,
Helen Stovall and Rebecca Gafford. The Dr. Ted and Twila Moore
Sponsor's Cup was won by Bracewell and Giuliani.
Mark you calendars now for the eighth annual Changing Lives
Through Literacy tournament to be held at The Dallas
Athletic Club on Monday, October 30, 2006. We look
forward to seeing you in the fall!!
