Lisa Nichols, teacher of and contributor to The Secret and co-author of the Chicken Soup for the African American Soul series, has been selected as the guest speaker for this year’s Attorneys Serving the Community (ASC) luncheon benefiting Vickery Meadow Learning Center.

Lisa Nichols

Lisa is a dynamic motivational speaker and powerful advocate of personal empowerment and emotional health. Her audiences range from teens to educators, business professionals, CEOs and parents.  Ms. Nichols’ participation in the self-development phenomenon, The Secret, catapulted her popularity across the globe.  Ms. Nichols is a co-author of the books, Chicken Soup for the African American Soul and Chicken Soup for the African American Woman’s Soul, and has appeared on Larry King, Extra, Starting Over, and the Oprah Winfrey Show. Ms. Nichols is currently writing a new book, No Matter What, teaching readers how to build their “Bounce Back” muscles.    Ms. Nichols is looking forward to hosting her own daily television show, "The Lisa Nichols Show," which is currently in development.  In addition, Ms. Nichols is the founder of Motivating the Masses and CEO of Motivating the Teen Spirit, LLC.   Her transformational workshops impact the lives of hundreds of thousands of teens and adults.   Ms. Nichols has been honored with many awards in recognition for her empowering work, including the Humanitarian Award from South Africa, the Ambassador of Good Will Award from African Focus and the Legoland Foundation’s Heart of Learning Award.

Founded in 1987, Attorneys Serving the Community (ASC) is a volunteer organization of women attorneys committed to raising awareness and funds for local charities benefiting women and children. Each year the women of ASC carefully select a different local charity to sponsor. Once a beneficiary is selected, ASC members spend the remainder of the year actively engaging in events to raise contributions for the beneficiary, culminating in its annual benefit luncheon.   Vickery Meadows is pleased to be the beneficiary of the 2008 luncheon.

The public is invited to hear Lisa Nichols and support Vickery Meadow Learning Center at this year’s ASC luncheon.   For information on sponsorship opportunities, tickets, or media inquiries, please contact Susan Swinson, Event Coordinator at Vickery Meadow Learning Center, at 214-265-5057 x16 or sswinson@vmlc.org.   For information about ASC, visit www.ascdallas.com
